Animals and Wildlife

A zoo has been run from this site since the early 1990’s and the current owners took over in 2007. Since then, efforts have been made to develop a slightly more African theme to the tropical hall and aquarium. Get to know the friendly new animals in our re-designed paddocks and enclosures. We have everything from donkeys, and Shetland Ponies to goats, llamas, Highland cattle, Jersey cattle, and rare breed sheep. A rare opportunity to see badger cubs being bottle fed at our centre, the largest badger cub rearing unit in the country. Half hourly animal talks through the day, feeding resident foxes, hilarious ferret racing, other wildlife encounters & more. We have a really special collection of owls, birds of prey and friendly animals in our Visitor Attraction plus outdoor activities where you can participate in full or half day bird of prey experiences. There are 300 animals at Ferne Animal Sanctuary ranging from sheep and cats to chickens.  The Sanctuary provides refuge for domestic and farm animals within a 30 mile radius.

Welcome to the Fleet Air Arm Museum - representing the flying arm of the Royal Navy.  With four exhibition halls, over ninety aircraft and over 2 million records and 30 thousand artefacts the Museum is the world's second largest naval aviation Museum. We have up and coming exhibitions throughout the summer... The Museum contains many excellent farming and cider making exhibits, as well as tools from t ancillary crafts, such as blacksmithing, thatching and coopering. The UK's largest exhibition of the greatest cars from around the world with over 400 amazing cars and bikes from nostalgic classics of the 50s and 60s. Welcome to the World's Largest Dedicated Helicopter Museum. Weston-super-Mare's largest undercover all weather attraction is a fun place for all the family, with a coffee shop and  children's play area.

The Playbarn is a large converted barn with our super slides - with the death dare drop, slippery snake and whizzy wave, plus an adventure play and climing area with cages and balls and scrambling equipment. ...provides children with an environment for play and become’s a ‘happy’ stage into their childhood. Here a growing reputation transcends generations, where a child who once enjoyed the facilities eventually brings their own children. With our adventure play area and super diggers, as well as the children’s activity centre, soft play bus and brass rubbings, there's fun for everyone.
