The crystal clear waters of the Bibury Spring provide the essential pure water required to run the hatchery which spawns up to 6 million trout ova every year. Cattle Country in Berkeley, Gloucestershire is a great day out come rain or shine for children, and adults too. A specialist zoo of birds of prey dedicated to their conservation. Join in all the activities and have real hands-on-experience.  You can watch chicks hatching, cuddle the bunnies, feed the pigs, give lambs and goat kids their bottles.  Our very popular Pony Rides are on Friday and Sunday at 2pm. We house over 500 birds; Flamingos, pelicans, penguins, cranes, storks, cassowary, and waterfowl can be seen on various aspects of the water habitat. The birthplace of modern conservation, Slimbridge Wetland Centre is the ideal place to get closer to nature. We envisage a Gloucestershire richer in wildlife, from urban window boxes to rolling country estates; wildlife is everywhere and we want it to stay that way. In the region of 42 exotic species, from as far afield as Japan and Indonesia, fly freely in a tranquil tropical oasis and it is a wonderful opportunity to see rare species in beautiful surroundings.

The Cotswold Pottery is a small family-run studio started in 1973 by John & Jude Jelfs.  The pottery is all made in the studio, entirely by hand. We have 6 indoor and 4 outdoor courts as well as meeting rooms, synthetic and grass pitches available for hire. GL1 has a magnificent complex of 4 pools with a variety of sessions for beginners and splashers to serious swimmers. We have a wide range of leisure facilities and activities that are suitable for everybody, whatever your age or ability. We really have something for everyone!

Watersports

An area of 140 lakes, set in 40 square miles of countryside. ...operates seven days a week and provides school groups and youth organisations outdoor opportunities to expand their knowledge and skill and have fun. Based near Chepstow we offer excellent inland diving facilities and an exciting range of activities.

...offers a wonderful opportunity to see a massive working water wheel directly powering a rare piece of historic textile machinery. A museum that tells the fascinating story of Britain's 2000 miles of waterways and helps capture life in a working docks.
